An aging office HVAC system can create a number of problems for the building owner and anyone using that space. Not only is it not properly cooling or heating the space, but it may be very inefficient, causing excessive costs just to run. If you feel your HVAC system is no longer efficient, or want to see what options are available to you, our team can help. A full inspection by the professionals at Smoak’s Comfort Control is the first step.

    Replacing It?

One of the most common questions people have is whether or not they should replace their HVAC system. If it is more than 15 years old, less efficient, and requiring multiple repairs over the year, it may be time to replace it. There are numerous products available that can fit most office environments.

    • Consider efficient products. Most important of all options in packaged HVAC systems is efficiency. Upgrade to choose a system that offers the best level of energy savings possible. Compare SEER ratings whenever possible.
    • Consider hybrids. These allow you to benefit from gas furnace heat pumps that use two fuel sources, reducing overall costs.
    • Upgrade ventilation as well. Often times, office spaces will have significant amounts of dust buildup and, if the building is more than 20 years old, ventilation systems may be less efficient. Replacing them can be beneficial.
    • Most importantly, don’t make a decision until you have all of your options in office HVAC. Smoak’s Comfort Control can provide you with the recommendations and special solutions to fit your needs.
